Charlie Sheen mocks Obama at D.C. show

Apr 19, 2011

Charlie Sheen got political during his Torpedo tour stop in D.C. as he mentioned that he'd consider running for president. And he sounded unconvinced about President Barack Obama's citizenship.

According to Politico's Patrick Gavin, Sheen cited a Huffington Post presidential poll that "had me annihilating that lunatic from Alaska," said Sheen, referring to former Gov. Sarah Palin.

Other polls, said Sheen, "had me beating our president."

"Is that the craziest (expletive) idea ever?" Sheen asked the crowd, which was described by Politico as friendly. "For starters, I was (expletive) born here, how about that? And I got proof! Nothing photoshopped about my birth certificate."

As for a presidential bid, Sheen, who was in court in L.A. this morning for a custody hearing, said its "something I'd have to consider because I don't know how a custody fight would work with half a (expletive) first family."

Washington Times reporter Kara Rowland, who was tweeting from the show, said that when Sheen was asked who he'd pick for a vice presidential running mate, he did not answer "Donald Trump." He said, "Nic Cage."

She described the venue, DAR Constitution Hall, as being "50-60 percent full." In the audience: Michaele and Tareq Salahi.
