Halle Berry & Gabriel Aubry Declare A Ceasefire As Custody Battle Continues + Halle Allowed To Take Nahla To New York

In one of the nastiest custody battles we've seen played out in the media, Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry have called a ceasefire.  Though the two have not worked out all their differences, the pair has agreed to stop washing their dirty laundry in public.  Deets inside...

According to RadarOnline.com, a source close to the situation says that Halle Berry and baby father Gabriel Aubry will attempt to handle their custody issues in private and peacefully.

The past few months have clearly taken a toll on both Halle and Gabriel as accusations have been flying back and forth between both camps.

While sources close to Halle claimed Gabriel was verbally abusive and used the "N" word, those  close to Gabriel claimed Halle was controlling, manipulative and prone to tantrums.  Either way, both parties came out looking bad in the public eye.

"I think Halle started realizing that things were getting out of control," a source told RadarOnline.com. "It was just getting too nasty and too public."

The source also said that Halle and Gabriel have resumed speaking and Halle will not seek sole custody of Nahla.  In fact, part of the ceasefire was that Halle would give Gabriel more access to his daughter.

But what about all those negative things printed about Gabriel in the press?  A source close to him said,

"Gabriel has not responded to the allegations that have been made against him. His thing has always been that he will save the truth and fight, if needs be, in the privacy of family court, where no cameras or press are allowed."

Hopefully this situation will have a postive ending.  I am happy they will be dealing with their issues in a closed court setting, because this dirty laundry can't be good for Nahla.

UPDATE:  Earlier today a judge in a California courtroom gave Halle Berry permission to travel to New York City with her daughter, Nahla, to film the upcoming movie New Year’s Eve.

Halle originally pulled out of the movie over her and Gabriel's custody battle.

Her lawyer, Neal Hersh said,

"We are pleased the judge took the time to deal with this very imminent and important issue. The judge read a great deal of paperwork and gave us time to argue.  Halle is very pleased with the judge's order."

And by the way, Gabriel Aubry, has withdrawn his custody petition, which is public , but he's continuing with his paternity action which will not be open to the public.
