Cool stuff on DVD today: 'Burly Q,' Harry Potter and more
11:40 AM
Will this week's DVD options keep us glued to screens or, say, stuck on podcasts instead? Let's take a look at today's standout titles:
Release o' the week: Behind the Burly Q. I watched this amusing, insightful burlesque documentary last weekend and was entertained by the stories of former burlesque stars -- many of whom still maintain a style all their own. Catch it yourself, and you'll learn about the top burlesque stars at the height of the scene and see the phrase "little fur cat" in an entirely new light.
- Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1. Things are getting dark for young Harry. Very, very dark.
- H.R. Pufnstuf: Complete Series. It's all the '70s weirdness you can handle on three glorious discs!
- Country Strong. It's like Crazy Heart, only with Gwyneth Paltrow in the Jeff Bridges role.
- White Material. Isabelle Huppert stars in the Claire Denis drama.
- Tracy & Hepburn: The Definitive Collection. This set contains Woman of the Year, Adam's Rib, Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Desk Set and more Hepburn/Tracy classics.
Also out: A Summer in Genoa, Car 54, Where Are You? The Complete First Season, Dallas: Movie Collection, Heartless, The BBC Tudors Collection, Whitney Cummings: Money Shot, Le Cercle Rouge
Related news: Elektra Luxx (did that even come out?) will be released on DVD June 21.
Next week: The King's Speech makes its DVD debut.
