LeAnn Rimes and Brandi Glanville announced on Twitter on Sunday that they reached a truce. After more than a year of bitter tension and nasty public feuding, two warring sides have come together ? at least on Twitter.
LeAnn Rimes took to the social networking site on Sunday to announce that she and Brandi Glanville, the ex-wife of Rimes' fianc Eddie Cibrian, have agreed to bury the hatchet ? and not in each other's heads.
"As a collective unit, Brandi and I would like all negativity to cease toward one another," the singer wrote. "We have communicated and have a direct understanding that we are ONLY ourselves on Twitter and have no other accounts that try to destroy one another."
The statement follows several weeks of rumors that both women had created secret accounts to bash each other on the popular website.
"Please for our families' sake stop the hate now and let us live OUR lives," the tweet continued. "We don't need opinions or outside help in order for that to happen."
Rimes, 28, signed the tweet "LeAnn and Brandi." For her part, Glanville, 38, retweeted the statement.
She later added: "Twitter has changed this world! It is mind boggling."
The truce comes just one month after Glanville called Rimes out on Twitter for allegedly wanting to pay a visit to her soon-to-be stepson Mason's class.
Rimes vaguely responded by asking her followers not to "retweet me anyone else's drama."
The pair have clashed several times since 2009, when Cibrian, 37, publicly left Glanville, with whom he also has a second son named Jake, for Rimes, his co-star in the television movie "Northern Lights."
Rimes, who also left her husband Dean Sheremet, and Glanville have sworn in the past to keep their personal issues out of the media, but the ceasefires always ended up being temporary.
It remains to be seen whether the women will eventually engage in another round of war.
